MCGLYNN, JAMES P. “JIM”- 82, Hastings, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 4,1940 in Hastings, PA. He was the son of the late Daniel and Florence (Buck) McGlynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife Mary “Mick” (McKee) McGlynn, who died 5 years ago on the same date, November 3, 2017. They were married for 59 years. Also preceded in death by sisters Mary Carpinello, Catherine Spacht, and his beloved dog Roscoe. Jim is survived by his 4 children, James P McGlynn Jr (Joan), Donna Solnosky (Donald), Susan McGlynn-Miller (Rodger), and Joseph McGlynn (Michelle), all of Hastings. Grandchildren, James McGlynn III (Amber), Ashley Woodley, Kylie Shea Miller (Eric), Skyler Miller, Takota Miller, Kallin McGlynn. Great grandchildren, Dominic, McKenzie, Jonathan, and Jaxson. Jim is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, good friend/brother in law Harold “Cork” Hilling, his brother Daniel McGlynn Jr (Frances), sisters Anna Friedhof and Margaret “Peg” Maines. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always had a smile on his face and never seemed to have a bad day. Jim was a coal miner at Bethlehem 32 until its closing at which time he opened up his own business, “McGlynn’s Auto Body and Repair”. Jim was the owner/operator of McGlynn’s Auto Body for over 40 years and just retired 2 months ago at the age of 82. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. He and his wife were always an active part of their children’s lives. Jim spent many years coaching little league, girls and women’s softball, running concession stands and umpiring. He enjoyed snowmobiling, weekend getaways at camp with family, beer thirty with the guys and his daily drives around town. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at 11am at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Thaddeus Rettger officiating.
