Johns, James R.- 91, Johnstown, passed away March 23, 2020, at his home.  Born November 9, 1928 in Johnstown, son of the late George N. and Frances (Nicholson) Johns.  Preceded in death by parents.   Survived by his wife Eleanor (Sliasky) Johns, who he married 63 years ago on May 18,1957; daughters, Rebecca A. Zips (Edward), Johnstown; Jamie R. Knipple (Merle), York; grandchildren, Rhiana Leathery (Brian), Lancaster; Zack Zips, Pittsburgh; Aliyah and Kyler Knipple, York; great-grandaughter, Beckett Leathery, Lancaster. James was a graduate of the class of 1946 at Westmont High School, he attended one year at the Pittsburgh Art Institute, he served in the U.S. Army from 1949 – 1951, and was employed at Conemaugh Engraving Co. for nine years, and then as a milkman for Sanitary Dairy for twenty-nine years. Jim was an avid hunter and fishermen, he went on many hunting trips, and brought home many trophy’s. The family wishes to thank all of Jim’s caregivers, and Hospice for all the tender care they provided. At Jim’s request there will be no visitation or services.
