Kunkle, Janet, 85, Johnstown, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2018 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born July 5, 1932 in South Fork; daughter of the late Charles and Nancy (Stutzman) Schmidt. Preceded in death by husband of 66 years, Jack V. Kunkle; sisters, Betty Anderson and Amelia Gentile; and brother, Walter Schmidt.  Survived by daughters, Brenda Kay Troy (Chuck), Belle Vernon; Jackie Williamson (Tim), Johnstown; grandson, William D. Gregory (Rebecca), Westmont; granddaughter, Angela Berry (Maurice), Lancaster; and her furry “grand-puppies” whom she loved very much.  Janet was an engraver for a local trophy co. for over 30 years.  She was very artistic and liked to paint.  She loved music. She was a meticulous housekeeper who never ceased to amaze her family with her tireless energy.  She was a ray of sunshine and will be loved and missed forever. The family would like to thank Atrium Manor and staff for their loving care of their mom and grandma.  They also thank the professionals and staff of the Palliative care of Conemaugh Health System, member of Duke LifePoint Healthcare for their supportive care. There will be no viewing at the request of the deceased. Interment will be at South Fork Cemetery.
