Sechrengost, Jean M., went to be with Our Heavenly Father November 25, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by family and love. She was the third born child to Ethel and John Bennett on January 10, 1939, in Johnstown Pennsylvania.
Jean married the love of her life Fredrick Paul Sechrengost on March 21, 1959. Together they had three children. Debbie, Charlotte, and Fred. She took great pride in her children, her work, and her home. After Frederick retired from serving our country in the United States Army in 1982, Jean and Frederick made their permanent residence in Windber, Pennsylvania.
No one who met Jean could forget her infectious passion for her family, her love of animals and her love to go dancing. Her eyes and smile would light up a room as soon as she walked into the room. She never met a stranger and was very compassionate about helping those less fortunate. She was known for always helping others, her compassion and for putting everyone before herself.
She would never miss a Sunday Nascar race cheering on her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was very active with bowling, she bowled on several league teams.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fredrick; daughters, Debbie, and Charlotte; sisters, Mary, and JoAnne; her beloved dog JoJo, and her cat Chew. She is survived by her brother John Bennett; son Fred and his wife Tiffaney; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The family would like to recognize Jean’s friend Frieda Carlson of over 70 years.
She will always be loved, cherished, and deeply missed by her many friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cambria County Humane Society in her honor.
