Fuhrmann, Joan S. (Kresko), Johnstown, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, August 26, 2017, at Windber Hospice. Born February 1, 1934, in New York City, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Mayer) Kresko. Preceded in death by husband Robert (Bob) Fuhrmann in April 2013, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Mary Fuhrmann of Ebensburg and Berthoud CO. Survived by daughter, Holly, wife of Zachary Bodolosky, Elton, and nephews Mark Fuhrmann (Suzanne) of Mt Airy, NC and Eric Fuhrmann (Krista) of Berthoud, CO, as well as many dear cousins, lifelong friends and neighbors. Joan was retired from the Cambria County Court system where she worked for several different magistrates over 18 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was a long time member of the choir. She occasionally sang with the Grove Avenue United Methodist Church choir. Joan also was a member of the choir at Beth Sholom temple for 20 years. She sang with the Johnstown Symphony Chorus for 48 years, and the Johnstown Choraleers for over 25 years. Joan loved to sing at every opportunity and sang at such venues as the National Cathedral in Washington DC, Chautauqua Institution in New York, the Ferndale Minstrel Shows, and many weddings including a military wedding at West Point, NY. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends and family will be received, September 17th from 12 p.m. until time of her life celebration service at 1 p.m., First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine St. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Lutheran Church.
