Penrose, Joanne I., 73, Bolivar, passed away May 8, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born Oct. 14, 1943, Bolivar, daughter of the late Albert D. and Irene (Brett) Kastner.  Joanne was a woman few words could describe and no one could forget. She was the rock of her family and a dear friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle C. Penrose; and sister, Mary Jane “Pook” Banks. Survived by children, Richard Penrose and wife, Donna; Tracy Penrose; Roxanne Bracken and husband, Herbert; grandchildren raised by Joanne, Clay Penrose; and Maxwell Penrose and fiancé, Teri Jensen; grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Jesse, and Joshua; great-granddaughter, Penelope; siblings, Harriet “Doll”, Donna, and Rose; and her best friend, Linda. At her request, there will be no public visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
