Podvojsky, John A., 87, Johnstown, died June 2, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital. Born March 6, 1928 to the late Albert and Susan (Churilla) Podvojsky. Preceded in death by, twin children, Mark and Monica; brother, Albert; sisters, Mary Rhinehart; Bernadine Goldberg; and Margaret Wieczorek. Survived by wife of 53 years, Barbara (Matejko) Podvojsky; sons, Johnathan, (Lisa Wattman); and Martin; brothers, Michael and Edward, Johnstown; and Joseph, New Hampshire; sister, Ann Stamey, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. John was a Veteran of the Army who served during World War II. He was self-employed as a tractor trailer owner, operator and mechanic. John enjoyed his GMC trucks, Dodge pick-up trucks, and Lincoln cars. Friends will be received Sunday June 7th from 4-6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday June 8th at Resurrection Parish, 324 Chestnut St., Father Francis Balestino, officiating. Procession to St. Stephens Cemetery for committal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to a charity of your choice.
