Chuha, John Carl, 87, Johnstown, passed away November 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Johnstown, April 28, 1935, to Frank and Anna (Zahoran) Chuha. Preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Hannah; wife, Gloria “Baba”; brother, Joseph Chuha; sisters Suzanna Brown and Frances Baker; and brothers-in- law, Robert Cooper, John Salat and Dennis Smith. Survived by children, Kimberly McKool (Mike); Lauri Sikirica (Pete); John Scott Chuha (Anita); Kris Gallina (John); Vanessa Elliott (Greg); grandchildren, Chris, Jason, Lauren, Gio, Maria, Corrine, Taylor, Anthony, Josh, Julian, Zack, and Emilee; great grandchildren, Rosalie, Leo, Eliana, Amelia, Ryleigh, Lucy, Noah, Wynne, Liza and Westin; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Cooper, Carole Salat, and Romayne Chuha. John was known as “Johnnie” to Baba and his friends. In his life he had been in a band, wrote music and poems, had his own T.V. repair business and worked as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel. Dad loved his family very much. He always had hoped his kids would play a musical instrument and tried to teach the organ, accordion, and guitar. He also loved his cat, Ruby (aka Doobie, Tuxedo, Kit Kat). Dad will always be remembered for his strength and work ethic. There was nothing Dad couldn’t repair! The family would like to thank Dad’s helper, Cheryl, who made sure he had delicious lunches and good company on her watch. And, to the caregivers at Conemaugh Hospital, The Lutheran Home and 365 Hospice-all of whom made Dad’s last few weeks very peaceful. He remarked that everyone was so nice and friendly to him. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 2nd at 1 p.m. at Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johnnie’s memory to your favorite charity or Hospice. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.”  Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
