Horner, John Charles “Jack”, 72, Johnstown, passed away September 18, 2020 at home with his family around him. Born July 7, 1948 in Johnstown, son of the late David Grant and Mary Jane (Anderson) Horner. Also preceded in death by brother, David William Horner. Survived by his loving wife, Virginia Ruth (Lees) Horner, ending a 51-year marriage; daughter, Tammy Lee Benson (Horner) (Ray Benson); sons, John Charles Horner Jr. (Lisa Marie Strashensky) Horner, Jeffrey Lynn Horner (Tammy Marie Plows) Horner; granddaughter Katelynn Ruth (Horner) Primel; grandsons, Cameron Benson, Tyler Benson, Cody Horner, Kyle Horner, and Grant Horner; great grandsons, McAlister Horner and Todd Primel; and sister, Daryl S. Habel. John graduated from Greater Johnstown High School in 1966 and went to work in USS Steel. When USS Steel closed its doors, John went to work for Ingersoll Rand/Volvo 1986 in Shippensburg. John retired in 2009. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or service. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society.
