Cunningham, John F. “JC” – 66, Hastings, passed away September 2, 2015 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.  Born September 21, 1948 in Spangler; son of the late Amandus B. and Barbara J. (Bechel) Cunningham. Preceded in death by his parents, JC is survived by his wife, Joanne (Boring) Cunningham;  his children, son David, Hastings; daughter Holly Feighner, Cherry Tree; grandchildren Brandi, Jaden, Nathan, and Jonah; JC is also survived by his sister, Barbara Lemme, Arizona. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army. He worked as a coal miner for several years, and then went into his own mechanic business. JC served his community; he was a member of Hastings Station 55 for 50 years, in that time he served in every official capacity of the fire department, except for the office of Chief. He was very dedicated to the fire company, and served as a Fire Instructor at the Cambria County Fire Academy since 1982. He represented Hastings Station 55 as a delegate for Central District in 1972, Cambria County in 1980, and as a state delegate in 1983.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday September 4th, at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street, Hastings. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday September 5th, at Hastings United Methodist Church, Pastor Linda Lacovic and Pastor Laura McCombie, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Hastings VFW Post # 1586.
