Turner, John F. “Jack”, 78, Johnstown, passed away at home May 22, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. Born February 27, 1945, in Oil City, PA. Survived by loving wife, Mary (Nunemaker) Turner; daughters, Doreen Landes (Michael), VA; Teresa Turner, Johnstown; beloved grandson, Dylon Hudson (Jocelyn), Johnstown; great granddaughter, Carmendy Hudson; siblings, Diane Hoover, Erie; Dave Turner, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a longtime member and president of East Hills Kiwanis and proud starter of Flags Over East Hills, which is still going on today. He started the car club Chuggin’ Chariots in Oil City, Pa, was a longtime member and president of Johnstown Street Survivors and was a member of Johnstown Corvette Club. Jack thoroughly enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and sales. After moving to Johnstown in 1966, Jack was employed by several places, including Seeses Exxon Station, Marhefka Sports and Marine, and Honda World. He owned Turner Sales and Cycles, T & K Pizza Shop, and drove bus for Mcllwain’s. Jack started the first motorcycle safety course in PA as well as taught it in Johnstown. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and enjoyed NASCAR and the Steelers. He also had a love for dogs. Despite hating lawn work, Jack was extremely proud of his landscaping and was always building something new in his yard. Jack’s latest enjoyment came from working at Thomas Buick GMC. He thoroughly loved his position, all the people he had the privilege of working with and meeting and looked forward to going to work each day. Jack had a lot of things he was proud of, but nothing made him prouder than his grandson, Dylon, and all his accomplishments. Family extends a special thank you to UPMC Home Hospice for their compassionate care and support, as well as all the neighbors and friends who helped during Jack’s time of need. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday May 25th at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to UPMC Hospice/Home Health Care, 700 Bower Hill Rd #6206, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
