Froehlich, John Joseph, 89, Johnstown, passed away August 16, 2020 at McCullough Place.  Born November 15, 1930 in Johnstown.  Son of the late Edward A. and Louise J. (Martin) Froehlich.  Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Irene E. (Wendell); a sister, Sister Annette Froehlich; and brother, Robert Froehlich and his wife Theresa.  Survived by a sister, Sister Kenne “Mary Grace” Froehlich of Philadelphia; and many nieces, nephews, and a good friend Josephine and family.   John proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines in Korea and received many medals for his service including: combat action ribbon, presidential unit citation, Navy/USMC Unit commendation, good conduct medal, national defense ribbon, Korean service medal ribbon with 3 stars, Korean presidential citation, UN Korean service medal, ROK United Nations Medal,  rifle sharp shooter metal.  He worked as a meat cutter for Alex Froehlich Packing Company for many years.  A funeral service will be held Saturday August 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc, 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown.  Interment at Grandview Cemetery with military honors from Menoher Post #155.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made Veteran Community Initiative, 727 Goucher St., Johnstown PA 15905.  You can always tell a German, but you can’t tell him much.
