Sottile, John L., 95, Johnstown, passed away December 8, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born October 7, 1925 in Williamsburg. Son of the late Paul and Francesca (Donia) Sottile. Preceded in death by loving wife, Virginia M. (Meyers) Sottile; brothers, Louis, Joseph, Veto, Carmen, August, and Anthony; and sisters, Carrie, Mary, and Annie. Survived by daughters, Marianne Roesch and her husband, Bernard, Johnstown and Diane Sottile, Johnstown; grandchildren, Michael Roesch and his wife, Jennifer Levine, Philadelphia, and Melissa Roesch, Winchester, VA; sisters, Pauline Molchany and Jane Jones; and special sister-in-law, Connie Meyers, Johnstown. John was a WWII Navy Veteran. Retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1983. He enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren, cutting grass, cooking spaghetti, and snow blowing the driveway. People always joked they knew his house because there was never a snowflake to be found.
