Obituary

Stenger, John W., 63, Johnstown, died Feb. 15, 2015, at his home. Born June 18, 1951, to the late William and Rosemary (Incosky) Stenger. Preceded in death by sister, Donna, and husband, Richard Lewis; brother-in-law, Jimm Rummell; daughter-in-law, Kelly Pisarski; and nephew, Scott Lewis. Survived by wife, Teresa (Rummell) Stenger; son, Michael Stenger; stepchildren, Matthew Pisarski, Krista (Chris) Goodman, Victoria (Ryan) Williams and Maria (Carl) Lick; nephew, William (Michelle) Lewis; niece, Jamie Signorelli; aunt and uncle, William and Dorothy Kolega; special cousin, Ro (Sam); numerous grandchildren and cousins; and special friends, Ted Figart and Charles Banko. John was a veteran of the Air Force who had served two tours in Vietnam. Member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where he was part of the ushers club, an electrician for the festival, the men’s club and the pierogie project. He was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School; helped out with the Disabled American Veterans Organization; and enjoyed gardening, watching the Steelers and Pirates and going to craft shows with his wife, Teresa. John also had two beloved dogs, Jo-Jo and Lucky. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Therese Catholic Church, the Rev. Bernard Karmanocky, OFM, officiating. Interment will follow Mass at Richland Cemetery in the mausoleum with military rites.
