Obituary

Matolyak, Joseph “Lefty”, 94, Johnstown, passed away Dec. 28, 2017 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Nov. 8, 1923 to the late George and Caroline Matolyak. Preceded in death by loving wife, SueAnn; and siblings, George; John and his wife Barbara; Steve; William; Agnes Zak; and Ann Zima. Survived by sons, Rev. Donald Matolyak and wife, Sharon, Mt. Vernon OH; James Matolyak and fiancé, Michele Phillips, Carlisle PA; grandchildren, Carissa Shaw and husband Joshua, Mt. Vernon OH; Philip Matolyak and wife, Shawna, Gainesville GA; Andrew Matolyak; Kristi Harned and husband, Brian; Eric Matolyak and fiancé, Britney Kelly, all of New Cumberland PA; great grandchildren, Willow Shaw; Elijah Matolyak; sisters-in-law, Angeline wife of the late Steve Matolyak; Julie wife of the late William Matolyak; brothers-in-law, Robert Darby and wife, Mary, Trenton MI; James Darby and wife, Shirley; and Raymond Darby, all of Johnstown;  and many nieces and nephews. Lefty was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 30 plus years from Bethlehem Steel. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Jan. 4 at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where a service will be held Fri. at 10 a.m., Pastor Gary L. Tustin, officiating.
