Obituary

Roberts, Kenneth W., 82, Johnstown, passed away November 16, 2023. Born January 28, 1941, to the late Charles and Ruth (Dick) Roberts. Also preceded in death by sisters, Ethel Roberts, Betty (Paul) Schlosser, Shirley (William) Shoemaker; brothers, Milton (Grace) Roberts, Lester (Josephine) Roberts, Harold (Arlajean) Roberts, Robert Roberts.

Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (Henning) Roberts. Also survived by daughter, Ruth Ann (Christopher) Vann; grandsons, Brendon Rager and Jeremiah Beveridge; brother, Joseph Roberts; sister, Leona (Bob) Boyle; sister in-law, Doris Daugherty.

Kenneth graduated from Franklin High School and proudly served in the Army from 1963-1965. He worked as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel Wire Mill. He also was a 50-year active member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, and recently has attended Faith Baptist Church. He was long term Board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship.  He was an avid Johnstown Hockey Fan and has been a season ticket holder since 1970. Kenneth was the family box hockey champion. He loved the outdoors, especially mowing the grass on his John Deere riding mower and annual hunting trips with his brothers and nephews.   He built a log home in the woods where he raised his family. Kenneth was a hard worker his entire life and was endlessly creative.  He was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed. There will be a memorial service Saturday November 25th at 1pm, with visitation ½ hour before the service at Faith Baptist Church, 230 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA. with Pastor Andrew Taylor officiating.  Memorials in Ken’s honor may be directed to CEF of Cambria County or Faith Baptist Church.   Condolences may be directed to Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care”.
