Bodenschatz, Kevin C., 59, Johnstown, Pa. went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2017. Born April 19, 1958, in Johnstown, son of Edward J. “A” Jr. and Margaret M. “Meg” (Rooney) Bodenschatz. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother and sister, John and Mary Margaret; brothers James and Thomas, sisters Colleen and Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, Raymond Chopper and Bruce E. Makin. Survived by loving wife of 29 years, Cathy (Makin), whom he married November 5, 1988; son Justin Andrew, Johnstown, Pa. and step-daughter Briana Rose (Huber) Kelly, wife of Morgan Kelly, Somerset, New Jersey, Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law, Irene “Doll” (Toth) Makin and Carl Makin, Colver, Pa.; siblings Raymond, married to Barbara Kopco, Summerhill; Susan, Harrisburg, Pa.; Rose, married to Tom Atkins, Shrewsbury, Pa., Della, wife of Steve Braverman, Wesley Chapel, Fl.; Pamela, wife of Robert LaRoche, Dover, NH; sisters-in-law Marianne (Handel) Bodenschatz, Sidman and Debbie (Strayer) Bodenschatz, Sumerhill; brother-in-law Dan Alexander, Land O’Lakes, Fl.; brother-in-law Dr. Richard Makin, Curwensville, Pa.; sister-in-law Gail Makin, Athens, Ga.; sister-in-law Janet (Hoover) Makin, Ebensburg, Pa., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Kevin had a great work ethic having been employed at Kuchera Industries, Windber, Pa., DRS Laurel Technologies, Johnstown, Pa. and most recently Lockheed Martin Aeroparts, Inc., Johnstown, Pa. He gave his life to the Lord in 2003 and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Johnstown, Pa. He enjoyed fishing and kayaking with his wife Cathy and he was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan. Kevin was a devoted father who never missed his son Justin’s basketball or baseball games. He was also extremely skilled with any home or auto repair that needed done. He loved animals and was a beloved master to his Labs, “Silas” and “Manny”. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Nursing Staff of Ashman 6th Floor ICU who were truly ministering angels during this most difficult time. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service in his honor to be held on September 7, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, Pa. 15904 officiated by Rev. Peter Nordlund and Bishop Harold Spellman beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, all are invited to attend a luncheon and time of celebration of Kevin’s life at The Boulevard Grill, 165 Southmont Boulevard, Johnstown, Pa. 15905. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Peniel Residential Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center, P.O.
