LaRue Elaine (Leidy) Holsopple was born on July 1, 1941 in Johnstown, PA and went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2020. Visitation will be at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. on Thursday, October 1 from 2-8 pm. The funeral will be held on Friday, October 2, at the Vinco Brethren Church at 11 am. Committal will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vinco Brethren Church or Cambria County Humane Society. LaRue was as a gentle and caring person. She was extremely compassionate and quick to help her friends and neighbors. She was heavily involved in the Vinco Brethren Church throughout her life. She was baptized and became a member at the age of ten. She served as a deaconess for over 25 years. There were few events at the church that she was not involved. LaRue was a loving wife for 59 years. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother. She regularly called her children and grandchildren and constantly prayed for them. She was the heart of the home and the person her family depended on. She was hard working and was always busy. She was employed by Dr. Edelstien, then Lenders Service, but retired from Lee Hospital after serving as a nurse for 25 years.  In retirement she not only kept busy serving at the church, she frequently visited her friends. At home she enjoyed feeding birds, watching the deer in her back yard, and playing with her daughters’ dogs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna P. Leidy, and her father, Carl Stutzman. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Holsopple; her children, Deanna Phillips (Carl), Mark Holsopple, Janna Selfridge (Chris); Denise Ochenrider (Ron); her grandchildren, Lynnea Phillips, Leah Phillips, Luke Phillips (April), CJ Selfridge, Justin Ochenrider; and her siblings, Steve Stutzman (Pattie), Dan Stutzman (Margaret), and Joyce Hill (Jay).
