Kociola, Laverne M., 89, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away January 14, 2022, at The Winds. Born August 26, 1932, to the late Francis and Mary (Gelbke) Galligan. Preceded in death by loving husband of 57 years, George; and siblings, Helen, Olean, Dorothy, Edward, Jean, Francis, Bernard, and Leo. Laverne was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, George Kociola and wife Ann (Woomer); Deborah Gaston and husband Joe; Matthew Kociola and wife Teresa (DePaolantonio); grandchildren, Daniel Kociola (Ashley); Janell Daus (Matthew); Mark Kociola (Lindsay); E.J. Semelsberger (Susie); Meghan Michaels (Adam); Joseph and Emily Gaston; Samuel Kociola (Elizabeth); Mattia Kociola; great grandchildren, Easton, Landon, and Channing Semelsberger; Mia and Sophia Michaels; Peter Daus; and one on the way; and sister-in-law, Delores Rodak. Laverne retired from Laurel Crest, Ebensburg, as a nurse’s aide. She was a great cook and loved dining out and shopping. Above all, Laverne loved spending time with her family.
