Grata, Lawrence G. “Larry”, 91, Johnstown, passed away peacefully September 20, 2023, at his home. Born August 23, 1932, to the late Edward and Cleda (Strayer) Grata. Preceded in death by son, Richard Grata; son-in-law, Dennie Deyarmin; and siblings, Evelyn Machik; Edward Grata Jr.; Raymond Grata. Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Shirley (Stutzman) Grata; daughter, Brenda Deyarmin; daughter-in-law, Ronda Grata; grandchildren, Erika Young and husband Luke; Natalie Grata; and great grandchildren, Leo and Nora Young. Larry was a proud Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion in Bolivar. He was employed for many years at Sani-Dairy and later in life as a coffee host at Sheetz. Larry was an avid water skier and loved camping, boating and spending time with his loved ones. Family will receive friends Wednesday September 27^th from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Oakland United Methodist Church, 1504 Bedford St, Johnstown, PA 15902. Committal and military honors to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windber Hospice.
