Gavin, Louise M., 89, Richland Twp., passed away Sept. 30, 2017. Born Nov. 4, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Albert & Hilda (Reivel) Fisher. Preceded in death by first husband Joseph Stys; second husband Charles Gavin; son Stanley Stys, who was killed in Vietnam; sister Patricia Dollard; brother Kenneth Fisher. Survived by sister Janet Stull of Johnstown; foster-son John (Cindy) Pomputius; grandson Dustin (Megan) Pomputius; great-granddaughter Lecia M. Pomputius; all of Indiana. Step grandson, Greg (Stephanie) Ewing; step great-grandchildren Branden and Sarah Ewing; step great great-granddaughter Rylee Ewing; all of Greensburg. Mrs. Gavin had a great love for animals and nature, she worked 30 years at A&P Super Market in Richland.  She was an American Gold-Star Mother, and her and others were instrumental in building “The Kawnis Memorial Park to Veterans” located in Richland Twp. There will be no viewing. She was a life Member of St. Benedict Church in Geistown, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at St. Benedict Church in Geistown on Oct. 14th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Private interment, Grandview Cemetery.  Friends who wish may contribute to St. Benedicts improvement fund or Arbutus Park Manor.
