Cornell, Marian LaRue, 93, passed away April 17, 2018 at Laurel View Village in Davidsville, PA. Preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Leslie H. Cornell; parents, Elden A. and Ruth (Egolf) Young; infant brother, John L. Young; brother, William J. Young; sisters, Dorothy J. (Young) Ramsbottom; Betty L. (Young) Kresko; and niece Beth Ann (Kresko) Fahy. Survived by sisters, Dolores (Young) Pfenninger; Joanne (Young) Houser; brothers-in-law, Brad Ramsbottom; Daniel A. Kresko; Edward Pfenninger; Edward J. Houser Sr.; Harry H. Cornell; sisters-in-law, Naomi (Stiles) Young; Catharine (Cornell) Voll; and many nieces and nephews. Upon graduation from Armagh High School, Marian moved to Youngstown, OH, where she was employed at the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 39 years as a supervisor at the Youngstown office. After retiring, Marian was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers. As a member, she did volunteer work for 22 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in the Infant Hearing Assessment Program. She was a member of the Old North Church in Canfield, OH for 56 years, where she sang in the choir and was a longtime member of the Church’s Quilting groups. Marian and her husband traveled extensively to 78 countries and all 50 states. At Marian’s request, there will be no viewing or service.
