Women Flower

Weaver, Marie L. (Kirkpatrick); Ebensburg, formerly of Hastings, went to join our dad, Elmer S. Weaver in heaven on April 7, 2020. Marie was a great quilter and made them for her children, grandchildren and a few lucky others when persuaded. She made delicious homemade breads, rolls and pumpkin pies, a great canner. She enjoyed plays, travel and the Hastings VFW Auxiliary and was District 26 President. While she hated to lose at cards, dad always said she was a good hunting buddy. She was proud of her work around the house, babysitting for the Gary Easly family where she was part of the “Go-Go Girls.”  Her first “real” job was for HAIDA Manor Nursing Facility in Hastings where she was instrumental in organizing the Union in Laundry and Housekeeping. Our parents worked tirelessly for the Hastings Area Youth and the VFW. You could find mom picking onions in the garden, sitting in her chair for “Jeopardy and Wheel” time or spoiling her grandchildren with songs, stories and gifts. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret (McNulty) Kirkpatrick. Survived by children: Debbie and son Stephan; Linda (Don) Weber and Patty; Donna (John) Woomer and Becky and Brian; Nancy (Tim) Behe and Matthew, Erin and Emily; and Elmer (Carrie) Weaver and Taylor; Brother Bob (Isabelle) Kirkpatrick and loving nieces and nephews. Sadly, due to the present circumstances at this time a viewing attended by only the children and their families is planned. A memorial mass and gathering with family and friends will take place in the near future.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family for masses and other fitting intentions. Arrangements in care of the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.”  Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
