Maser, Mary Catherine, 93, of Johnstown, passed away at home just 14 days before her 94th birthday. She was born in East Conemaugh, the eldest daughter of Earl M. Bittner and Catherine (Meckley) Bittner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Maser in 2011, sister Lenora (Bittner) Rose and her husband Alfred Rose, of Goodyear, Arizona, and her brother Jack V. Bittner who is survived by his wife Gladys (Lint) Bittner. She was also preceded in death by in-laws Herman and Janet Maser, Dorothy and Duane Dishong, Albert Maser survived by wife Mary, and Richard, survived by wife Louise (Kelly) Maser. She has been also preceded in death by nieces Debbie (Maser) Dravis, Beth Ann (Maser) Beecher, Susan (Bittner) Horner, and great-niece Arianna Berger. Mary Catherine is survived by children Diana married to Ron Mock, Mark T. Maser, and Sandra Maser all of Johnstown, along with many nieces and nephews. Others include special cousin Phyllis Williams and close friends Donna and Diane. Mary Catherine was a long standing member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church and was a previous Sunday school teacher and scout leader. She retired from Laurel Bank. Mary C. was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her Bible. She also loved traveling, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles. Mary Catherine was a graduate of East Conemaugh High School. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 10 from 11am to 1:30 pm at Summit Chapel Church. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 with a luncheon to follow.
