Carpinello, Mary E., 91, St. Benedict, formerly of Hastings, went to be with our Lord on Thursday February 27, 2020 at St. Benedict Manor. Born March 4, 1928 in Hastings, daughter of the late Elmer F. DeLozier and Florence E. Buck.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Vincent Carpinello; daughter, Sara Carpinello; and brother, Dr. Neil H. DeLozier. Survived by son, Vincent James Carpinello (Connie); son, Dennis J. Carpinello (Denise); grandchildren, Brian J. Carpinello, Dennis Jess Carpinello, Adam J. Carpinello (Lindsay), Melissa Carpinello; great grandchildren, Gabriel Carpinello, Ella Carpinello and Charlotte Carpinello; siblings, Elmer Lynn DeLozier (Nancy), Daniel McGlynn (Frances); James McGlynn, Dr. Howard DeLozier, Anna Friedhof, Catherine Specht, Margaret Maines (Ron); sister-in-law, Sylvia DeLozier; along with numerous other members of extended family. Mary was an active member of St. Bernards Church in Hastings, and also the rosary confaturny, the Cherry Tree civic club. Mary was mainly a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, canning, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling, and spending time at camp in Potter county, as well as time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at St. Bernards Church, and a funeral mass will follow at 11 AM. Father Thaddeus Rettger OSB, officiating. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary can be made to St. Bernard Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
