88, Hastings, went to be with Lord on Thursday March 16, 2017, at Haida Manor. Born November 5, 1928, in Greenville, PA; she was a daughter of the late John and Grace (Anderson) Ott. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brian Koontz, her siblings, Lawerence, Virginia “Ginny”, Betty, and John “Jack”. Mary is survived by her husband, Clair F. Koontz Sr., her son Clair F. “Skip” Koontz Jr., her grandchildren, Joan Quinn (Matthew), and Aaron Koontz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary had a love for all animals, especially her dogs, cats, geese, and her duck pond. Mary was strong in her faith in God, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, baking, she loved her family, and reminiscing about her hometown of Greenville, she was also known to be quite the daredevil in her youth. Friends and family will be received on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday March 24, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B. Officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mary’s memory be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA),  ASPCA Tributes, 520 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
