Mary Lou Endler, 94, Formerly of Hastings PA, passed away peacefully on February 14,2021, at Hummingbird Estate, Patton. Born April 26th, 1926, daughter of the late William R. and Mary (Gresco) Thomas. She was married to Leon “Buzz” Endler of Hastings for over 60 years at the time of his passing in 2010. She was also preceded in death by sisters; Lois Huether, B. Jeanne Farr and Janet Lipnic. She is survived by her children: Deborah (Tim) Schroeder, Berryville,VA, Thomas (Myra) Endler, Hastings; Marilyn (Jeff) Lantzy, Northern Cambria and Susan Endler of Vinco; brother William (Connie) Thomas, Hastings; grandchildren; Kristin, Gretchen, Timothy, Jared, Maren, Katrina; and 12 great-grandchildren. She graduated from Hastings Elder High School in 1944 and from Conemaugh Hospital School of Nursing in Johnstown as a registered nurse. She worked at Miners Hospital for approximately 30 years ultimately as the head nurse of Holton 1 and later as the office nurse for Dr. George Dvorchak Sr, Hastings before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time at the New Jersey shore with her sisters and their spouses, playing cards and trivia games with family and friends. She was an avid reader and was considered the “Trivia Queen” by her children. Friends and family will be received on Saturday February 20, 2021 from 11am to 1 pm at Hastings United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor JR Virgin officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Northern Cambria or Hastings Public Library.
