Thomas, Melvin D., 83, Johnstown, died Jan. 8, 2018 at his home. Born July 9, 1934 to the late Amos and Cora (Naugle) Thomas. Preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Luther, and Orange; and sisters, Margaret Howarth and Hilda Knepp. Survived by wife of 57 years, Joyce (Selders); son, Troy and wife Stephanie; grandson, Tanner; sisters, Viola Page, Davidsville; Madeline Kadilac, Johnstown; special nephew, Ernest Thomas, Indiana; and many special nieces and nephews. Dean served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was formerly employed by Ward Trucking as a truck driver. Dean attended Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren and very much enjoyed being a handy man, hunting, and fishing. Family and friends will be received Wed. Jan. 10 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Pastor Rob Wolf, officiating.
