Wingard, Melvyn Dwight.,95, Johnstown, passed away August 28, 2020.  Born January 18, 1925.  Son of the late William and Trella (Lehman) Wingard.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, Robert “Buzz” Wingard; sister, Hazel Moore; and grandson Garrett Wingard.  Survived by wife of 70 years, Lois Marie (Reed) Wingard; daughters, Rev. Linda Goodwin (Mark), Johnstown; Carol “Sis” Wilson (Scott), Export, PA; and Marcia “Babe” Allendorfer (Joe), Canal Winchester, OH; son, Jeffrey Wingard (Michele), Johnstown; grandchildren, Kelli Deater (Kirby), Johnstown; Jodi Billetdeaux (Jon), FL; Amanda Kress (Jeremy), Irwin, PA; Matthew Wilson (Alexis), Plum, PA; Jennifer Allendorfer, OH; Melissa Allendorfer, OH; Chelsey Wingard (Andy), Greensburg; great grandchildren, Jillian and J.R. Billetdeaux, Kaelyn & Kolton Deater, Malana Kress, Taylor Brendlinger, Aleah Steele, and Carson Madison; and brother, Edwin Wingard, Johnstown.  Mel was a Richland High School Graduate and was a proud WWII Army Veteran.  He served in the Philippines and occupied Japan and was honorably discharged in 1946.  He was a retired dairy farmer, worked at Richland Cemetery, and was a Richland Township Supervisor for 53 years.  He was also a member of Dunmeyer Lutheran Church, East Hills Charity Group, Greater Johnstown Masonic Lodge 538.  He served on the Board of Directors for East Hills Ambulance, Cambria Somerset Council of Government, and was a member of the Cambria County and PA state association of Township Supervisors.  Family and friends will be received from 5-8 PM Monday August 31, 2020 at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd, Johnstown.  A funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday September 1, 2020 at Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, Rev. Gary Tustin officiating. Entombment to follow at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum military honors by VFW Post 155 Ritual Team.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richland Fire Dept., East Hills Ambulance, or Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship.  Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
