He worked 14 years at Eastern Gas & Fuel and over 38 years at Barnes & Tucker Coal Company. He was a member of First Catholic Slovak Union, and also a member of the American Legion in Patton. He was an avid hunter and gardener, sharing his annual bountiful harvests with many family members and friends. He loved working with wood, and was well known for his hand-carved utensils, unique furniture, and toys for the grandchildren. Mike was known as Mr. Fix-it, and he saved everything; family and friends knew where to go when they were looking for that hard to find item. Family will forever miss Didi’s homemade specialties: pierogi, beef soup with homemade noodles, sauerkraut, haluski, Easter cheese, and decorating eggs with him. Mike will forever be remembered as a hard-working, loving, and devoted husband and father. We will greatly miss his keen wit, sharp intellect, and total love of family. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. on Thursday at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home in Hastings, PA, with Parastas during the evening visitation on Thursday.
