Young, Michael Cornell “Choch”, passed away January 16, 2021. Born April 25, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert V. Canon and Dorothy Young. Preceded in death by parents; uncle, Douglas Young Jr.; and granddaughter, Laquaesha Jones Moon. Survived by brother, Albert Young, PA; children, Annjannette Jones, NJ, Shannon and Shawn Young, PA, and Shane Johnson, PA; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special aunt, Loretta Hall; and special friends who were like brothers (the Rat Pack), David Coleman, Carl Stevens, and Glenn Hayward. Michael was a gentle giant who loved his family and friends. He had the biggest heart. Michael knew that everybody and everyone knew him, rather you knew him by Michael, Choch, or Big Mike. He enjoyed spending time with his mother, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching basketball and football. That was his relaxation time. If you needed it and Michael had it, it was yours. He was an unselfish soul. He never cared what the next person had. Stuff like that was irrelevant. Laughing and telling jokes was every day with Michael. He loved watching movies, taking long drives, eating, and telling some of his life stories. Through all the aspects of life, good or bad, ups and downs, Michael always remained true to himself, which was simply Michael, nothing more nothing less. He was who he was. The family would like to thank you all for those who paid their respects by sending prayers and reaching out to my brothers Shannon, Shawn, and Shane as well as myself.
