Ziner, Michael J., 89, of Johnstown, passed away December 11, 2020 at the Lutheran Care Home. Born August 6, 1931 to the late Mike and Anna (Popp) Ziner in Johnstown. He is preceded in death by parents; and siblings, Anthony Ziner; Joseph Ziner; Mary C. Berezowsky; and Margaret Sindleri. Michael is survived by loving wife Virginia (Volchansky) Ziner; his children, Pamela Dunn and husband Charles, of Johnstown; Kathleen A. Katawczik and husband Robert, of Johnstown; and James M. Ziner and wife Kathy of Woodstock, VA; sister, Dorothy Holtz, of Harrisburg; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Michael served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Gregory’s Church. He retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a supervisor. He was also a member of the Franklin VFW and was on the board of the CBW Credit Union. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Lutheran Home. A mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Church (120 Boltz St. Johnstown, PA, 15902) on Saturday December 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lutheran Home (807 Goucher St. Johnstown, PA, 15905).
