Hastings, PA – Mildred Louise Carpinello, 90, of Hastings, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Born January 12, 1933 in Elder Twp., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (Thomas) Becker. The last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by brothers, Blair, Ernest, Gerald and Thomas Becker, and sisters, Bernadine Becker, Lucy Carpinello and Edna Mae Stiffler. Survived by her husband of 70 years Nicholas Carpinello, children Terry Homady, Ebensburg, Glenn Carpinello (Deb), Hastings; grandchildren Jeff Homady (Jessica), Erin Au (Jason), Nicole Helman (Jason), Brent Carpinello (Angie); great grandchildren Isaac, Jimmy, Kcira, Mia, Arla, Ben, Joey, Emma, and Nicholas; and great-great granddaughter, Rein; sisters-in-law, Ruth Becker and Barbara Kline (Les) and son-in-law, Den Homady. Mildred enjoyed being with her family, and loved when they were all together for birthdays and other special occasions. Many enjoyable weekends were spent with Nick at their camp in Potter County relaxing with family and friends and playing cards on Friday nights and Sundays at home with family. She was an avid quilter, and gifted her family with many of her creations. She loved holidays, lovingly decorating her home with hand painted ceramics and holiday decorations. In her early years she enjoyed bowling and in her later years was an active member of the Red Hat Society, Cherry Tree Civic Club, and Hastings Senior Citizens. She also spent many years as a volunteer worker for the Hastings Red Cross blood drives. Mildred was loved by many, and her passing will leave a void for all who loved her, especially her soulmate and best friend, Nick. Family and friends will be received Sunday July 2, 2023 from 2 to 5 p.m., Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646. Services will be held Monday July 3, 2023 at 11 a.m., St. Bernard Catholic Church, Monsignor Michael Becker, celebrant. Viewing one hour prior at the church. Burial at St. Bernard Cemetery.
