Obituary

Owen J. Legg, 80, of Westmont, formerly of Roxbury, passed away Saturday April 10, 2021 at his home.

Born September 19, 1940 in Johnstown; he was a son of the late Wilfred and Marion (Mangus) Legg. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Legg.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice (Belz) Legg; sons, Thomas Legg of Baltimore, MD; Samuel Legg and fiancé Elizabeth Hornick of Johnstown; brother, David Legg and wife Sharon of Central City, sisters-in-law, Corrine Schmidt of Johnstown, Sarajean Penrod of Florida, Judy Price of Johnstown; brother-in-law, Karl Belz of Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews.

Owen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1959-1963. He retired from Penelec in 1995 as an associate engineer, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Engineers, American Legion Post 137, last surviving member of HOP+Dean Property Committee at Trinity, he worked on the Gemini Space Program wiring, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Friends will be received at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc, 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday April 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Toby Holland officiating.  Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors Menoher Post 155

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Jude, or Family House Pittsburgh.
