Lohr, Paul L., 83, Mineral Point, passed away April 1, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 8, 1933, Johnstown, son of the late Paul and Anna (Pinkerton) Lohr. Preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Arthur Hendricks; Aunt Mamie and Uncle Ralph Strayer, who raised him; and special cousin, Paul “Bud” Strayer. Survived by his loving wife, Evelyn (Haupt); sons, Mark and wife, Joyce (Bartina); and Douglas and wife, Emily (Carnell), both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Scott Lohr and fiancée, Melissa (Gauntner); Kathy Vardian and husband, Zack; Doug Lohr, Jr. and wife, Nicole (Dutter); and Danny Lohr; and four great-grandchildren. Paul was a member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, was an MP in the US Army stationed in Fort Hood, TX; and retired from Bethlehem Steel and Johnstown Corp. as an Electrician. He coached baseball for East Taylor Little League and was also the President of the East Taylor Bowling League. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 4 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, Pastor John Weaver and Pastor Keith Lohr, co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or Summit Chapel United Methodist Church. Entombment Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
