Bizjak, Richard L. had his life taken on August 13th, 2020 in a motorcycle accident. Born November 3rd 1960 to Victor and Mary Bizjak. Proceeded in death by his father, Rich is survived by his wife of 29 years Kimberly (Hunt); his son Hunter W. Bizjak; and all of his siblings Vic Bizjak, Roxann Lecky of Johnstown; Jon Bizjak, Don Bizjak, & Frank Bizjak of the Boston area as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country. Rich graduated from Conemaugh Valley High School in the class of 1978. He was employed as the RTS Coordinator at Kongsberg Protech Systems USA. In the beginning of his young adult life he quickly became familiar with the outdoors through Boy Scout activities & also hunting & fishing. In 2017 Rich became a member of the Wilmore Sportsman Club & Trout Co-Op. This leading him to become an avid fly fisherman and the ultimate teacher for several young men today. Starting in his early 20’s he found the love of riding Harley Davidsons. He most enjoyed going on scenic rides with his wife & other spontaneous trips with his riding partner Sean Ickes. His divine passion for athletics was lived through his son and his friends who he coached as they grew up together. You could often find Rich getting all the kids around for extra pick-up games on the weekends. When he was not coaching, he was the most boisterous spectator at his son’s college football games & rugby matches. He was a passionate golfer & member of the Pleasant Valley & Windber Country Clubs. At the age of 50 he achieved a personal life goal of running a full marathon with the assistance of his friend Pat Gillen. They both also completed several other 5k races around the area. Rich also treasured spending quality time with dear family friends Mike & Christine Galasso at each other’s houses. Indulging in premium cigars around a fire and telling funny stories was his forte. In closing, Rich was a man’s man who could fix or craft anything the situation called for. He was forever quick witted and usually rambunctious about revoking peoples “Men’s Club Card”. Additionally, he was instrumental on work ethic, attention to detail, and that everything is earned from you merit. Being an outstanding father figure & reliable friend, the impact he has made on so many will show as his spirit is finally set free. His wife and son have comfort in knowing how deeply he loved them, he will be missed tremendously & forever honored. Kim & Hunter will be receiving friends and family on Wednesday, August 19th from 2-7 pm followed by a memorial service at 7. Located at Hindman Funeral Home 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown PA 15902.
