Obituary

Griffiths, Richard L. Sr. “Dick”, 72, Cover Hill, Johnstown.  Our Father called him home October 21, 2019, with his wife, Deborah A. (McIntosh) Griffiths at his bedside.  They were wed October 27, 1973.  Born in Johnstown to Richard J. and Virginia C. (Rhoades) Griffiths.  Preceded in death by father.  Survived by his beloved mother; children, Corrinne Alexander (Scott), Nichole, Richard L. Jr.; grandsons, Michael, Dylan, Zachary, Grant, and Wyatt; brother, Rodney (Linda); and his traveling baby brother, Eric.  Richard proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was also Worshipful Master at Masonic Temple Lodge, #538 in 1995.  He was also a member of the Allegheny Mountain Forest #127, Richland American Legion #849, and Tire Hill VFW #4200.  Richard graduated from Forbes High School in 1965.  He was a long-time member of Homestead Ave. United Methodist Church.  He loved his wife deeply for 46 years, as well as his children and grandsons.  We will all miss him so much, as will the many friends he made over the years.  A special thanks given to the Cover Hill Ambulance Team and the doctors of Veteran Administration for the excellent care they have given Richard throughout the years.  A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Fransktown Rd., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
