Strushensky, Richard “Muz”, 68, Johnstown, died July 5, 2016 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born March 15, 1948, Johnstown, son of the late Harry and Anna (Maslak) Strushensky. Preceded in death by brothers, John and Daniel. Survived by his children, Jason Strushensky, Pittsburgh; Dena Gearhart and husband, Terry, Johnstown; siblings, Dorothy Cernansky; Michael Strushensky and wife, Catherine; Edward Strushensky and wife, Joyce; Catherine Strushensky, all of Johnstown; Margaret Troska, Cramer; Helen Trappanotto, DE; Millie Youler, WV; his former wife and good friend, Cheri Coco Kopsic; and very special friend, Randy Carpenter. The family would like to give a special thanks to Interim Hospice, especially nurse Sandy. Muz was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, VFW Post 155, Croatian Hall, and St. Casimir’s Polski Dom. He was an avid pool player. Muz joined the United States Marine Corp serving from 1967-1970 with an extend 3 months. He fought in Vietnam as a Lance Corporal with the 3rd Battalion 7th Marines and served alongside President Lyndon B. Johnson’s son. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
