Frank, Richard W., 87, Hastings, went to be with the Lord August 6, 2018 at Richland Healthcare. He was born January 10, 1931 in Ebensburg, PA, son of Celestine and Elizabeth (Farabaugh) Frank. He is preceded in death by his parents,  his wife of over 50 years, Marilyn R. (Kibler), and his son, John Frank, his sister, Mary Lou, and his brother Joe Frank. He is survived by his children Mary Beth Frank and her wife Shelly Bogus, Maryland; Michelle Frank, Ebensburg; Steve Frank and his husband Rob Arcurio, Johnstown; Scott Frank, Altoona; and Anne Frank and her husband Rick Surprise, Lansdale, PA; his grandchildren, Melissa Frank and her husband Justin Bellvia, Jenna (Frank) and her husband Dan Bender, Noelle Frank,  Elizabeth Frank and Isabella Frank; his great grandchildren, Wesley and Theodore Bender; his siblings, Paul, Jim, Bill, George, Fred, Shirley Ann, Darlene, Ron, Tom and Bob; his daughter–in-law Bridget (Shero) Frank; Richard  is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Bethlehem Mines where he worked as a coal miner for 27 years. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, he was also a member of the Hastings VFW Post #1586, Hastings Moose, Hastings Fire Club, Knights of Columbus, and the U.M.W.A. Richard was also spent several years on the Board of the Hastings Industrial Association, the Hastings Water and Sewer Authority, he was a founding member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, he volunteered with Boy Scouts of America, he was also the Chairman of the St Bernard’s Church Picnic for 50 years, and was also an Athletic Director at St. Bernard’s School. Friends and family will be received Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings. There will also be a time of Visitation on Friday August 10, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of mass at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger Officiating. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Hastings VFW Post # 1586. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in memory of Richard to St. Vincent DePaul, or to the Hastings Public Library Building Fund. The family wishes to thank all those who provided care for Richard at Amber Hills, Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation, and Grane Hospice.
