Shaffer,  Richard W., 59, Conemaugh, died Oct. 27, 2014. Born June 8, 1955, in Johnstown, son of the late John Russell and Irene (Saydak) Shaffer. Preceded in death by brother, Andrew Shaffer. Survived by wife, Kathleen (Berkich) Shaffer; children, Sharon Lee Shaffer, Alexandria, Va.; Holly Marie Mamo, married to Endale, Alexandria, Va.; and Nicholas John Shaffer, Conemaugh; grandson, Isaiah Nicholas Mamo; and sister, Paulette Hemlock, Johnstown. Richard was a building maintenance supervisor for Arlington County Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on cars with his son. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Michael VanDyke, officiating. Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
