Obituary

Hauser, Robert J., 71, Johnstown, died November 13, 2019 at Arbutus Park Manor.  Born February 4, 1948 in Johnstown.  Son of the late Robert H. and Catherine R. (Lewis) Hauser.  Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Thomas Scott.  Survived by sister, Kate Sumak; brother, Dave Hauser (Susie); sister, Trudy Brunner (Bryan); nieces and nephews, as well as their families; and special family, Steve and Doug Matthews.  RJ loved tennis and hosted the “Hollsopple Open”.  He was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan and loved beating anyone at Scrabble.  He loved working the Sunday crossword puzzle because it was challenging! RJ proudly served in the Army in Vietnam and was a member of the Vietnam Memorial Post 4200 VFW.  At his request, there will be no viewing or service.  Committal will be held at the family’s convenience.  A special heart felt thank you to Windber Hospice and Arbutus West Wing nurses and staff for their compassionate care of RJ.  Memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice or Veterans Community Initiatives (VCI) in RJ’s memory.  Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans & Family Memorial Care,” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
