Robert J., 87, Johnstown, passed away July 4, 2019. Born March 25, 1932 in Portage. Son of the late Hugh J. and Stella A. (Helsel) Skelly. Preceded in death by his parents; his “Baby Doll” wife, Eileen R. (Goller), and his brother Thomas Skelly. Survived by his loving children, Robert F. Skelly (Janet); Brian P. Skelly; Laurie Polacek (Steve); Melanie A. Mihelic (Bryon); Karen L. Petrore (Anthony); grandchildren, Robert M. Skelly, Cortney M. Barkley (Will), Kenneth Frazier (Kara), Aaron Frazier, Sara Mihelic, and Samantha Stierheim (Tarin); great grandson, Wyatt Frazier; and his brother, Francis Skelly (Donna). Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in England as a heavy machinery mechanic. He was a retired mechanic for Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a member of The Hibernians, the Laurel Hill Mopar Club, and a member of the Daisytown Fire Co., serving as President, Vice-President, and Secretary. Bob had a passion for cars, especially Mopars. He shared his knowledge and passion helping neighborhood kids understand and repair their cars. His pride and joy was a ’65 Dodge Dart Convertible. Friends and family will be received on July 5, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. A funeral mass will be held on July 6, 2019 at 9:00 AM at SS Gregory & Barnabas Church (Daisytown), Rev. Robert L. Ruston, Officiating. Interment at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
