SNOBY – Robert Lee, 89, of Armagh was taken by God from his family to a new home on February 25, 2018.  Robert, the son of Joseph (Sinopoli) Snoby and Clara (Ringer) Snoby, was born on June 8, 1928 in East Palestine, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mary Catherine (Gatins) who passed away on August 22, 2013, and siblings; Paul, William, Henry Clay, James, and Marian. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Robert (Vicki Diehl), Deborah Ann (Larry Stinson) and Linda Lee (Gary Kozak); also by his six grand-children, five great-grandchildren, sisters Ethel Bernat and Virginia Vargo, nieces & nephews, and his faithful sister-in-law and companion Barbara Ann Bracken. Robert and Mary Catherine met in high school and were married on July 16, 1951 at Calvary United Methodist Church, a marriage which lasted for over 62 years. While serving in the U.S. Army, Bob was assigned to the 445^th Ordnance Ammunition Co. and sent to the Haeundae, Korea where he served as an ammunitions specialist. Bob was a skilled carpenter by trade, obtaining his experience after high school at the Conemaugh Lumber Yard and then at the Bethlehem Steel Co. where he worked for many years in the carpenter’s shop using his woodworking skills throughout the mills until his retirement in 1985. Bob was a humble, generous, mild-mannered individual, who always provided for the needs of his family. He was a person who could be counted upon to share his skills with all those he was able to assist and enjoyed being with his family more than anything else in his life, they were his pride and joy.  Anytime there was a picnic, reunion, or family celebration, Bob expected family members to be present because he enjoyed the get-together.  He was a master craftsman who built his own home in Armagh. Additionally, his love for others was shown through his wood-working skills and the making of a variety of things for them, from toys to picnic tables. Bob worked for what he received and did not like the idea of getting something for nothing, yet he was the first to offer his services when someone else was in need. Bob was a life-long member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a devoted Christian who used the talents that God gave him for the benefit of his family, church, and others; it is for this gift of sharing and love of family that he will always be remembered. Bob has passed from this world to God’s embrace knowing he was loved beyond measure. At his request, there will be no visitation and a private family service will be held. In his memory, donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church.
