Obituary

Turek, Ronald M., 62, Johnstown, died June 2, 2016 at home with his brothers by his side. Born Nov. 11, 1953 to the late Robert F. and Frances A. (Goldberg) Turek. Preceded in death by niece, Leann Turek; and loyal furry companions, Groucho and Chico. Survived by brothers, David J. Sr.; Robert A. “Tony”; Charles Sr. and wife Elaine; Uncle, retired Lt. Col. C. Edward; loyal furry companion, Frannie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ron was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Okinawa {L PH-3} and was part of the recovery mission of Apollo 15 in 1971. Ron worked 32 years at Nutrition Inc. He loved everyone from his centers and felt truly blessed to have known all of them. Ron will be missed dearly and always remembered for his sense of humor, love of the Hill, motorsports, fishing, enjoying mother nature, and Bud. Friends will be received Tues. June 7 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wed. June 8 at St. Therese, Rev. Bernard Karmanocky O.F.M., officiating.
