Shawn Michael Shertz, 35, of Ebensburg, died unexpectedly on April 28, 2022. Preceded in death by father, Edward Shertz, grandmother, Bobbie Shertz, and grandfathers, George Stewart, Donald Herman, and John Shertz.

Survived by mother, Sandra Shertz, and older sisters, Trinity (Matthew) Pellas, Cecelia (Ian) Wall, and Christtina Castinelli, and grandmother Joyce Stewart. Also survived by 9 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as friends Dan Stiles and Freddy Bradley, and beloved dog Desmond.

Shawn was a gentle soul and a man of few words. Even though he was quiet, he could interject just the right words to make everyone laugh. He loved to read and was as smart as they come. Shawn was an animal lover, and his dog was his constant companion. Although he did not have any children of his own, he was great with kids, and was nothing but kind and loving towards his nieces and nephews. He is genuinely missed.
