Chirdon, Shirley A. -62 , Hastings, went to be with Lord on Friday July 28, 2017, at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. Born March 18, 1955, in Spangler, PA; she was a daughter of the late William N. and Louise M. (Drass) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Shawn Henderson. Shirley leaves behind her husband of 5 years, Raymond J. Chirdon; her daughter and best friend Sarah Warner married to Douglas Warner, whom she loved as her own; her four adoring grandbabies Dylan, Dawson, Davin, and Sophie; her siblings Dave Thomas (Kathy), Larry Thomas (Cindy), Rick Thomas (Lynne), Cindy Inzana (Don); numerous nieces, nephews, and brother and sister in-laws, as well as an abundance of friends too numerous to mention, but they know who they are. Shirley left her earthly home to join her son Shawn, and her parents in heaven. Shirley loved people fiercely and without condition or judgement and was the kind of person everyone adored, and anyone who knew Shirley would tell you what a kind hearted, generous, and selfless person she was. Shirley never failed to take care of others at home and at work. Her pride and joy was being “Nana” to her grandchildren, she loved to bake, go for walks, take trips, play and be silly. She was also considered an honorary “Nan” to all the children that were blessed to be loved by her. When Shirley wasn’t taking care of someone, she was usually found in the kitchen cooking for someone, or making her delicious baked goodies, canned jellies, and so many ‘famous’ meals that no one could replicate. Friends and family will be received on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday August 4, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B. Officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Bernard Cemetery.
