Turtoro, Shirley M., aka Shirley Peer (Farley, McCall), 87, of Amber Springs Nursing Center at Laurelwood, formerly from Old Conemaugh Borough, died peacefully October 9, 2018. Daughter of the late John and Adeline (Vinzenzo) Farley. Preceded in death by infant son, John McCall Jr., and second husband, Joe Turtoro. Survived by current husband, Kenneth Peer; daughter, Diana (McCall) Purpiglio and husband George; grand-dog, Buster, all of Johnstown; special cousin, Jim Lee and wife, State College, PA; ex-husband, John McCall; and brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Georgia McCall, all of Johnstown. Shirley was a retired nurse’s aide from Mercy Medical Center and was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. She loved to socialize at clubs; two of her favorites were Turner Hall and the Am-Slo Club, where she had MANY friends. Shirley loved children, animals, reading the paper, selling 50/50 tickets, and playing bingo. She loved all her friends and family and lived life to the fullest by saying, “who gives a shit”, to anyone that would listen.
