Platt, Shirley Mae, known as “Nana” to all who knew her, passed away June 20, 2016. Born November 9, 1931 in Johnstown to the late Walter and Ruth (Rhoades) Smith. Preceded in death by sister, Virginia Schofield; and two infant children. She is survived by daughter, Debbie Podrasky and son David Platt, both of Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren, Ronald Conahan (Sheri), Brandy Fraska (Nick), and Kelly Price (Greg); and great grandchildren, Jerad (Danielle), Sierra, Tyler, Katlyn, Ethan, Serenity, Skye, Solarys, and Cooper. She was also anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great great granddaughter, Sofia, due in August. She will also be missed by her only nephew, Daniel Schofield. Besides her family, her other passion was Bingo and her Bingo buddies at Laurelwood Care Center, where she lived for the past five years. She was an avid Pirates fan and loved her country music and doing all kinds of puzzles. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services.
