Krisko, Stephan “Tib,” 89, passed away July 22, 2014, at home. Born on October 10, 1924. A native of East Conemaugh and a longtime resident of Vinco, he was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Stephan and Anna (Hanchak) Krisko and siblings Adam, Michael, George, Helen, Marie, Ann, Jay, Helen and Elizabeth and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty (Glowa); daughters, Beth and Paula Krisko; son-in-law, Michael Wolf; grandchildren, Lilianna Krisko Wolf and Stephan Krisko Wolf; sisters, Irene, and husband Ted, and Regina; and many nieces and nephews.

As one of the members of the “Greatest Generation,” Steve served our country in the Navy during WWII, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Among many missions over his 4 and a half years of service, he and his shipmates supplied fuel to Allied troops at the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

At Steve’s request, there will be no viewing. Friends and family will meet at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd at 8:30am Saturday to form a funeral cortege and process to Grandview Cemetery where the funeral service will be held at 9am. The Very Reverend Archpriest George Johnson officiating. Military honors by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team. A memorial liturgy will immediately follow at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Conemaugh.

Thank you for your example of an unshakable positive attitude, wisdom, and kindness, Dad. Now, it is time for you to go with God. We were grateful to have had this time to walk with you on this earth and will be even more grateful when we see you again. May your memory be eternal.
