Maschak, Stephen Daniel Jr. “Tex”, 75, Johnstown, passed away January 8, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 12, 1945 in Johnstown. Survived by loving wife, Anita Maschak. Steve graduated from Bishop McCourt High School in 1962. He was a volunteer with the Pete Duranko Fundraiser Golf Tournament for many years and a volunteer for Pete’s Sake ALS Walk Team. Steve was a dedicated volunteer at Conemaugh Twp. Fire Dept. and a member of Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. He was the unofficial photographer for the class of ‘62 fundraisers and was active with the class in selecting scholarships for students at Bishop McCourt High School. Steve was a dead ringer for Jerry Garcia, the leader of the rock band The Grateful Dead. People would stare at him wondering if it was Jerry or not. Steve had a lot of fun with that especially after Jerry passed away. There will be no viewing. Due to COVID, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
